The NACS Show expo floor is big enough that “I’ll just walk it and see what catches my eye” turns into a very expensive way to spend three days. The 2026 expo covers more than 430,000 square feet at the Las Vegas Convention Center and holds over 1,200 exhibitors, according to the official NACS Show expo page. Do the math on the open hours and you get roughly 16.5 hours of floor time. That is not many minutes per booth.
So the real question isn’t “where is the floor plan?” It’s “how do I turn the floor plan into a route that gets me to the right 20 or 30 conversations?” Here’s how I’d approach it.
A lot of people book travel around “October 6–9” and then discover the exhibit floor isn’t open yet on day one. The conference runs October 6–9, 2026, but the expo runs October 7–9.
Based on the official schedule, the floor hours look like this:
Friday is a half day, and by then a lot of booth staff are packing up mentally. If someone on your list matters, don’t leave them for Friday.
Tuesday is useful for something else: badge pickup. Registration is open from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, so collecting your badge then means Wednesday isn’t spent in a line.
The expo sits in the Central Hall and North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, per NACS’s exhibit hall page. But the General Sessions and most Education Sessions are held at the Westgate, not at the convention center. PEI’s education sessions are the exception and are in the LVCC.
That split matters for your route. On both Wednesday and Thursday, the General Session ends at 11:15 AM and the expo opens at 11:30 AM. If you want to be on the floor at opening, you need to plan the trip between venues rather than assume you’ll just walk in. NACS publishes a shuttle bus schedule under its Planning menu, so check it before you build your day around a tight handoff.
Walking the floor cold is the part I’d skip entirely. NACS gives you two tools for avoiding it.
My Show Planner lets you browse product categories, search exhibitors, and save the ones you want to a shortlist. Your shortlist then syncs to the official NACS Show mobile app, which includes an interactive map for finding booths on the floor itself. One small gotcha from NACS: if you still have last year’s app installed, delete it and download the 2026 version, because the old one won’t carry over.
A workable shortlist has three tiers:
Floor layouts can shift in the weeks before a show, so confirm booth numbers in the app rather than from a screenshot you took last month.
Two spots on the floor are worth building your day around.
The Cool New Products Preview Room is organized by expo category, so it works as a shortcut for spotting new products and then finding the exact booth. On Wednesday morning it’s open to retailers only until 11:30 AM, then it opens to everyone.
The New Exhibitor Area opens an hour before the main expo (10:30 AM). NACS says more than 150 companies were new to the show in 2025, so this is where you’ll find suppliers you haven’t seen at any other event.
If you’re a buyer, visit both early and mark what you want to see. If you’re a supplier looking for partners or competitors’ new entrants, same advice.
The floor isn’t a random grid. NACS organizes it into five product areas: Facility Development & Store Operations, Food Equipment & Foodservice Programs, Fuel Equipment & Services, In-Store Merchandise, and Technology. (If you want to know what kinds of companies sit in each, our NACS Show 2026 exhibitor list page breaks that down.)
For routing, the takeaway is simple: sort your shortlist by area first, then plan your path through each one. Bouncing between a fuel equipment booth and a snack supplier across the hall is how you lose 40 minutes without meeting anyone.
This isn’t the only way to do it, but it’s a sensible default.
Wednesday. Registration done the day before. Hit the Preview Room and New Exhibitor Area early. After the floor opens at 11:30, spend the afternoon on your must-meet list in one product area.
Thursday. This is your longest full day on the floor. Use it for the second product area and your “worth a stop” tier. Leave a gap in the middle of the day for walk-ups and anything unexpected.
Friday. Plan for the 9:00 AM open and finish by 1:30 PM. Use it for loose ends, people you missed, and follow-ups.
One more habit worth stealing: don’t schedule every half hour. Leave about a fifth of your time open. Meetings run over, booths get busy, and some of the best conversations are the ones you didn’t plan.
The official exhibitor directory is the right place to start. It lets you search by keyword, company name, product category, or hall location. What it doesn’t hand you is a way to reach the right person before the show, so your booth visit isn’t a cold introduction to a rep who was hired last month.
That’s the gap a contact list fills. If your outreach starts a week out, you can book meetings with the decision-makers on your shortlist rather than hoping they’re standing at the booth when you walk by. If you’re selling to exhibitors (booth services, logistics, marketing, lead capture) that kind of advance contact is often the whole game. You can see how we handle exhibitor data, or get in touch if you need something built around a specific ICP.
ExhibitionData is an independent data provider and isn’t affiliated with NACS or the show’s organizers. If you’re comparing options for other trade shows too, the all events directory is a good place to browse by industry, location, and date.
Yes. NACS provides an interactive floor plan through its exhibitor directory and the official mobile app, which includes a map for finding booths on the floor.
The expo is open October 7–9, 2026. It opens at 11:30 AM on Wednesday and Thursday and at 9:00 AM on Friday, closing at 1:30 PM that day.
In the Central Hall and North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. General Sessions and most Education Sessions are at the Westgate.
NACS lists more than 1,200 exhibitors across more than 430,000 square feet of expo space.
A floor plan is just a map. The people who get the most out of the NACS Show are the ones who show up with a ranked list, a route, and meetings already on the calendar. Spend an evening on that this week and you’ll feel the difference by Wednesday afternoon.
